Batch caravan goes to Makati, brings unique attendance to sixty-four
Like a shepherd tending his flock, the batch president, Alberto Bercasio, led the batch officers to go farther out to places where more batch mates can be reached. And so the batch caravan went farther up to the National Capital Region, 400 kilometers north of Naga City, only to gather more of the batch mates living in the metro.
Initiating the first caravan meeting at his place in Pamplona, Bercasio led the next caravan south to Pili, then north to Calabanga, all in Camarines Sur, before going to the NCR on Apr. 24, 2015 where they were given a very warm reception by batch mates from the NCR, more particularly by Ronald Mateo Roco and Ricardo Abelardo, Jr. who sponsored the food, drinks and venue.

Gathering twenty-eight batch members to the occasion, the caravan meeting in Makati, which is the fourth of such gatherings held at different places, drew a total of sixty-four unique attendance by batch mates. The number represents more than one class section during their last year in high school which has an average class membership of 47 students. The caravan meetings are being held to gather and bring the batch mates into active participation as the batch gears for the 2016 grand alumni homecoming where the batch will be its main sponsor. For the caravan meetings attendance report, please see post at our chalk board page.
The gathering was held evening of Apr. 24, 2015 at The Open Space in Bel Air 2, Makati City.

Batch ’91 officers and trustees went west in caravan last Saturday, March
28, 2015 to bring the batch meeting closer to batchmates’ place of residence or
assignment.
The event, which was the first of several meeting caravans scheduled
by the officers, was hosted by President Alberto Bercasio at their residence in
Del Rosario, Pamplona, Camarines Sur to cover Camarines Sur’s northwestern
municipalities of Milaor, Minalabac, Gainza, Pamplona, Pasacao, Sipocot,
Libmanan, Cabuaso, Ragay and Del Gallego.
As the hosting by the batch of the grand alumni homecoming inches closer,
Bercasio wants the batchmates to develop such comradeship and solidarity among
them that he said he wanted to see more frequent activities that gather the
batchmates together.

ADNUHS Batch 1991 acquires legal personhood
March 19, 2015 marks the birth of
the Ateneo de Naga High School Batch 1991, Inc. as a juridical person after its
Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws were duly approved by the Securities and
Exchange Commission upon its issuance to the association on even date of a
Certificate of Incorporation.
The change in status from a mere
association to a body corporate came twenty-four years after majority its
members graduated in 1991 and 652 days before they celebrate their silver jubilee
on December 30, 2016. Such was after two and a half months after the new set of
officers for 2015 headed by its President, Alberto Bercasio, first met in
January 10, 2015 to finally push for the works on the incorporation of the
association which was initiated in the February 11, 2013 meeting and even in
the years prior. Thus, after a series of meetings and behind-the-scene works to
draft, print, review, revise, present for ratification, final drafting and
signing, the association’s AI & BL were then approved for registration by
the SEC Legazpi Extension Office.
The Ateneo de Naga High School
Batch 1991, Inc. (ADNHS91), is registered as a non-stock corporation classified
under the industry type of alumni association. As a non-stock corporation, no
part of its income is distributable as dividends to its members, trustees, or
officers and any profit which it may obtain as an incident to its operations
shall, whenever necessary or proper, be used for the furtherance of the purposes
for which it was organized, i.e., primarily, to provide a forum that will promote the interests and welfare of the
association members and an avenue where they can bring into fruition their
ingrained ideal as men for others.

Members of the Ateneo de Naga
High School Batch 1991 have ratified the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws of
the association during the batch meeting held last January 24, 2015 at Krypton
Grill, Naga City.
The AI and BL presented and
discussed to the members by Alberto Bercasio, batch president, were the version
resultant of the deliberation earlier made by the officers on the original
draft prepared by Vincent Aunisin, batch secretary.
Some minor modifications on the
AI and BL were proposed and adopted during the presentation of the same to the
members present.
Some fundamental provisions of
the AI and BL include the following:

2015 batch officers hold 1st meeting; AI & BL in the works
The newly elected set of officers
of Batch ’91 held their first meeting, Saturday 10th January 2015 at
5:30 p.m. at Soledad, Magsaysay
Avenue, Naga City.
First on the agenda was the
finalization of the proposed Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws of the organization
drafted in preparation for its presentation to the batch membership for their
ratification in a meeting set on January 24, 2015 and its subsequent
registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission which the officers hope to be done early next month.
Also in the agenda
were the brainstorming for the fund raising activities and other activities in preparation
for the 2016 homecoming sponsorship by Batch ’91, the ADNAA (AdNUGAA)
thanksgiving mass, batch initiatives, updates and other matters.
Usual turnout at Ateneo Avenue
Attendees from Ateneo HS Batch ’91
at the December 30, 2014 Grand Alumni Homecoming dubbed as “Ateneo Avenue” by sponsor
batches 1989 (silver jubilarian) and 1964 (golden jubilarian), turned out at 43
(see list of attendees). The number was expected to be bigger but due to the
incessant rain, the number of attendees was limited. The Batch Night held at
Daddy’s Grill the night before the reunion has had more attendees.
The number of attendees was also
limited by those abroad and at other distant places who are reserving their
comeback to the 2016 Grand Alumni Homecoming in time for the closing ceremonies
of the Ateneo at 75 which will
coincide with the silver jubilee (25th year) of batch 1991. The silver
jubilarian batch is the main sponsor during the grand reunion with the golden
jubilarian batch, the co-sponsor.
The batch ’91 attendees then
proceeded to Daddy’s Grill from Ateneo
Avenue for more private socials where they discussed plans for their silver
jubilee and for the formal organization of the batch. (More photos).
2015 batch officers elected
A new set of batch officers was
elected during the Batch Night held last December 29, 2014 at Daddy’s Grill in
Naga City.
Elected officers were Alberto
Bercasio (President), Ricky Villamora (Vice President), Vincent Aunisin (Secretary),
Justine Francis Barja (Treasurer), Francisco Perfecto Clarete (Auditor) and
Oliver Olivo (PIO). During the nomination of candidates, Marielito Almelor
moved to first open the positions to volunteers who have the willingness and
conviction to take on the responsibilities to be left by outgoing president, Richmond
Canlas, who, upon calling the meeting to order, intimated to the body that he
would like to be relinquished of the responsibility that he held for quite a
number of years.
With the Almelor’s motion unopposed and collectively seconded,
Alberto Bercasio volunteered to head the batch. The body applauded Bercasio’s
offer of himself. The floor was then opened to other volunteers but none other
volunteered. Bercasio was then proclaimed as new elected president.
The same elective process was followed
for the other positions. Ricky Villamora and Rommel Cabrera offered themselves
for the vice presidency. Having two volunteers, the body went on to vote. With
Villamora garnering more votes, he was proclaimed elected vice president.
Having no volunteer for the
position of secretary, Aldous Jonel Modino nominated Vincent Aunisin to the
position. In turn, Modino was nominated by ___________ but Modino declined the
nomination he having been the nominator of Aunisin. There having no other
nominee, the sole candidate, after having accepted the nomination, was
proclaimed secretary.
The positions of treasurer,
auditor and PIO all received sole nominations with Justine Francis Barja,
Francisco Perfecto Clarete and Oliver Olivo, respectively being proclaimed
elected to their positions.
Outgoing president, Richmond
Canlas, congratulated the new set of officers.
